Online Safety

Safeguarding

Online Safety
Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Primary and Nursery School.  We have measures in place to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any Online Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our Online Safety Policy. Simply banning the internet or technology is unrealistic which means education around safe use is therefore essential.

Online Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to keep themselves and their personal details safe whilst using the Internet. Parents and children are asked to agree to uphold the school’s Online Safety Policy. As a school, we have worked with the children to create a list of rules for the children to follow to help keep themselves safe. These are called OLOPSAFE and can be viewed below.

We have provided a range of resources and support for our parents on this page so that the school can work in partnership with the parent community to safeguard the children of Our Lady of Peace. There are more bespoke resources to support parents with Online Safety at home which can be accessed through the link 'Online Safety - Support for Parents' on the left hand side of this page.

Parents with any concerns regarding online safety are encouraged to see the Computing Leader/Online Safety Officer (Mr Stopps) to discuss their concerns.

The links below are useful websites with a wealth of help and advice with regards to online safety.

On Thursday 21st March, we held an Online Safety workshop for our parents. The presentation can be found through the link below.
